The Most Important News Ever!?

Hi, everyone! Today, I am here to announce the most important and exciting news.
I've been a video blogger for a year and two months.
My main channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/ARIKEITA113, this channel's concept is "Just do what I want to do, don't think about the results before I do".
So I've been following this concept for a year and two months.
Of course, I will continue this concept until I die. But I would like to have another concept on YouTube.
So I was thinking, "Ummmm what do I want to have another one?" "What kind of things do I want to do?" "What do I love?".......Yeah, things like that.

Then I found an answer.

As I mentioned that my main channel's concept is "Just do what I want to do, don't think about the results before I do".

You know what?

I actually want to try a totally opposite thing. The concept is like this, "THINK, Think, you gotta think about the results before you do".

So my another channel.....Oh, I won't say "Second Channel" because that's a person who is supposed to have iPhone4, right?
Anyway, my another channel is a sketch channel.
I act and film like daily awkward and difficult situations which every Japanese might have.
Then I ask the audience, "What would you do?" And you can choose between A,B and C. After you answer my question, I will total the answers and announce which one (A or B or C) is the best answer for those situations.

So this is a kind of vlog, sketch and questionnaire channel. This is the very first video. You should watch it, if you understand Japanese.

The Best Staring Contest Video Ever!?

Hi everyone! Do you remember YouTuBUkatsudou? It was about 2 weeks ago, I uploaded a vlog which is about them.
So one of YouTuBUkatsudou's creator, his name is Keita, he posted a video last month and challenged me. This is the video.

Basically, he challenged me a staring contest and his record is 24 seconds.
So he asked me whether I can beat him or not.
Ummmmm, you know what? This is a peace of cake, TOTALLY!
Check this video out! I totally beat him!!!!!

My record is ONE minute and 58 seconds! My record was 5 times LONGER than his record!! I think the reason why I could win this contest is I trained really hard in this video.....Don't you think? Everything is impossible without training!!

The Best Yawning Video Ever!?

Hi everyone! How was your Golden Week? Oh, you've never heard of it??
If you haven't, it's a good time to know about Japanese culture. You can click here and Wikipedia it.
In 2011, this year, we had about 10 days off. (From April 29 to May 8)
That is a large consecutive holiday, isn't it?
After Golden Week, some people might get "Gogatsu-Byou".
"Gogatsu" is "May" and "Byou" is "Sickness".
You know what I'm saying? Some people are being lazy because of Golden Week.
That's the "Gogatsu-Byou".
So I thought "Oh, it's going to be fun to make a yawning video. Because some people are feeling lazy."

The Best Cinnamon Challenge Ever!?

Hi everyone, how are you doing? So last time, I tried a marshmallow challenge and I kind of made it. I mean, who can decided and tell me that I succeeded?
Anyways, the other day my friend told me that there is another challenge.
It is called "Cinnamon challenge".
I think you've heard of this challenge, haven't you? If you haven't here is the direction.
You'll need,
A person (who loves doing stupid things)
A spoon
Ground cinnamon
A stopwatch
And you swallow a spoonful of ground cinnamon within sixty seconds.
Sounds really easy, doesn't it? But one more thing, you're not allowed to drink water while doing this challenge.
Sounds really hard, doesn't it? So this is my challenge.

It's been about 3 weeks since the earthquake hit Japan. As you know, we've been still struggling. Even though here, in Tokyo, I mean the whole Japan has been still struggling, It's so sad.
On the other hand, we've been trying to be positive.
Some people say, "Hey, don't be so sad, keep your chin up!!" "We can't restrain ourself. Because that's just escaping from the sadness!"
"pray for japan" has been such a popular website lately. Everybody can post messages to that website and share them. So you should go check that out and post some positive messages!

Don't worry, we can overcome this sadness. But we have to keep our chin up, that's for sure.

Oh by the way, I uploaded a new vlog as well! This is my first time NOT to do anything in front of the camera. You know, sometime people don't want to do anything.....

YouTube Charity Filming on March 22, 2011 at Shibuya!

Hello everyone, how are you? Oh, me?? As I'm blogging now, I'm totally fine!
Today's blog, I just want to let you know that I am going to make a cheering video for charity.
The reason why I am going to do it is that partners4japan asked me to make a video and upload it on that channel. partners4japan is a really cool channel. All revenue from that channel will be donated to charity. As you've heard, Japan hit a really huge earthquake last week and we've been in a difficult situation.
Actually, I've already made a charity video last week but I've wanted to make more charity videos since I made it. When partners4japan asked me, I thought "This is such a great opportunity, I gotta do it!". and I took this amazing opportunity.

After The Earthquake

Hi everyone, good morning. I always upload my blog when I upload a new vlog. But lately, it's been so tough to do that.
Today, I decided to BLOG instead of VLOG. Because I sometimes need to write, not to speak.
First of all, check out my latest videos.(If you haven't watched them.)
This is the next day of the earthquake in Tokyo.

This is the day 2.

And this is the day 3.

So the first video, it's about me, us and Tokyo. I was really surprised that Tokyo was like a Ghost Town. It was Saturday but not as usual Saturday. Why is it Ghost Town? Because public transportation were paralyzed. Literally, paralyzed.
On that day, I was supposed to work. When I got a train station, it was really crowded. It's almost 2 or 3 times more crowded than usual. And I was waiting for a train. 30 minutes later, I finally managed to catch a train.
That kind of thing has happened everyday.

The next day, it was Sunday, I was at Shibuya (which is one the biggest downtown in Tokyo). And I felt so weird and angry. Because it seemed an usual Sunday. Everybody wanted to shop and walk around (without no purpose). I really wanted to say "What the hell are you doing? Why the hell are you? Why did you come here? Do you still want to shop even though the earthquake hit here 2 days ago?"
I was so frustrated how those people are selfish. I was totally disappointed.
It was about 6pm, few shops were closed. They closed earlier. That 100% made sense. But honestly, they should've closed MORE earlier, or shouldn't have worked.

About 8pm, people were everywhere. One thing, I really couldn't understand was that shops (I guess they were restaurants and electric advertisements.) were still using huge amount of electricity. Who wants to see advertisements such this situation? Why couldn't they think about people who were struggling this situation?
Again, I was so disappointed how much we're selfish.
As soon as I got home, I was setting my camera up and talking about how I felt and urged people try to save electricity, use Skype or Viber instead of public telephone lines and not go out without no purpose.
I know that I'm not a public figure and I don't have enough power to urge people to do those things. But I wanted to let people to know about it as a Japanese.

The next day, I was told my boss not to work today. I totally agree. I was thinking, "What do I have to do now? What can I do as a Japanese??"
Suddenly, I got an idea.
"Maybe I could donate."
Fortunately, I just became a YouTube partner last week which means I can earn revenue from my videos. This is the reason why I've vlogged as much as I can.
But the problem is that my YouTube community is too small as a YouTuber (I always appreciate my subscribers and viewers!). I've already asked world famous YouTube partners to promote my videos. I deeply hope that some of them check my message and will reply to me.

I know that I can't do anything without your support. If you read this blog, just tell your friends and family that there is a guy who is trying to help people.

Ever since the earthquake hit Japan, I've never left my cameras. If something is going on here, I will film and upload on YouTube. That's what I've decided, no matter what.

The Biggest Earthquake in Japan

Hi everyone! Are you fine? I am fine. Today, the biggest earthquake struck Japan. Actually, the biggest earthquake struck Tohoku and Kantou.(Everybody says "Japan" I guess everybody thinks Japan is so small.....) Tohoku is NorthEast part of Japan. and Kantou means "Around Tokyo."
It was about 3pm. While I was editing my Japense vlog, I felt a small earthquake.
Then I thought, "Okay, this is just a small earthquake as always." But I was wrong.
The earthquake was getting bigger and bigger and bigger. I was so afraid but as soon as I hold my camera and tried to record.....

I am so sorry, I know that the video was hard to watch. Honestly, I kind of forgot to record it. I was just holding my camera.
As soon as I recorded it, I decided to upload on YouTube(because I'm a vlogger. That's what I am!). While I was uploading it, I felt a lot of aftershocks. It so scared me.....
Tsunami, Aftershocks and Fires, these have been such huge disasters here, in Japan. Believe or not, Even I'm blogging now, I'm still feeling some aftershocks which are sometimes small and big.
I hope everything is going to be fine as soon as possible.

Talking about between Facebook and Mixi

Hi everyone, how do you do today? What's on your mind? Did you check your Facebook today? I think you did. How about my new Japanese vlog? I think you didn't.
So here you go!

Facebook has been the biggest Social Network Service so far. I started Facebook 2 years ago when I was in San Diego. Before I started it, I'd never heard of it.
The reason why I'd never heard of it was in Japan, Facebook was not so popular at that time. Lately, a movie came out and it's "Social Network".
After the movie came out, Facebook got popular in Japan. My friends (who are Japanese, absolutely!) decided to start Facebook. And I surprised how much Japanese love new things.
But the weird thing is those people (sorry, even including my friends.....) don't Facebook so often. (I guess they just wanted to try it because of it's a new thing!)
The other day, I was so curious about it and asked some of my friends.
"Facebook or Mixi, which one is better?"
And they said
"Of course it's Mixi! Because I don't speak English and know what to do on Facebook!"
"Mixi" is a Japanese SNS and it's much more popular than Facebook (in Japan).
I stared "Mixi" earlier than Facebook. It was about 4 or 5 years ago.
At that time, Facebook was totally unknown in Japan. Everybody knows and does Mixi.
But lately, the thing has slightly changed.
In Japanese book stores, I've seen a lot of "Facebook books". It's like this,
"How to start Facebook!"
"What to do on Facebook!"
"2011 is the Facebook year!"
"Facebook is perfect for your business!"
So people have just started following Facebook (even though it's been so famous since a million years ago!). But I doubt it's going to be popular in Japan. Because I've hear a lot of questions.
"Why is it NOW? We've already had Mixi instead of Facebook. Why would we want to do that?"
"What's the difference between them?"
"Do we have to speak and understand English?"
I've just heard of them from my friends. That's the reason why I vlogged about it.

I called "Belog" in Japanese as "Vlog"

Hi everyone good afternoon, how have you been lately? I've been slightly busy with making Japanese and English vlogs.
Today, I would like you to know that I created a new name for "Vlog" in Japanese.
Here is the video that I named it!

As you may know that we, Japanese don't use "V" sounds so often. So it's difficult to say "Vlog" in Japanese. That's reason why I created a new name (actually, I just abbreviated it :P). From now on, I will call "Belog" in Japanese as "Vlog"!
Next time, you should say "Belog" instead of "Vlog", if you speak Japanese......

A Japanese Tries Tongue Twisters! Ep 4 - Can Clam Cram Clean Cream Can?

Hi everyone! It's been a long time to do TT (Tongue Twister) vlog!!

As you can see, it was really hard to say this tongue twister.

I tried to eat RAMEN as much as I can!

Hi everyone, Good evening! This is my second video blog in Japanese which you have to watch now!!

As I spoke in this video, my Japanese stereo types are "We're very thin", "We ALWAYS eat healthy food (because we're believed that we ALL love sushi)" and "We don't eat too much".
As a slightly weird Japanese guy, I would like to say one thing.
"We eat like you!"
That's the main reason why I made this video. I know that I couldn't make it.
But I guess you now understand what I want to let you know......
By the way, I am thankful for "Umemoto" (where I was allowed to film my eating)!

Oh...it's so cold here, in Tokyo! Hi, how have you been lately? Me? Oh yeah, I've been doing well.

I want to let you know one thing. I bought a dream!! Yes literally, I bought "A DREAM"! You want to know what I mean? What I bought a dream is that I actually bought 10 lottery tickets to "buy a dream", hahaha.

Since I decided to buy the lottery tickets, I wanted to make a new video. And I thought, "Oh what if I won the lottery and got the first prize, then I shared it to the world? That would be awesome!" Then I made the video.

Hello awesome people, it's time to watch a new episode of HFB!
Since I set up the moderator on my channel, I've gotten messages. Which is so awesome and makes me so energetic, YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Sorry I was too much excited.....Thanks for asking me on my channel, I do appreciate it.
Today's HFB, I went to Tokyo University. This university is one of the best university in Japan. It was really huge and beautiful. I love so much and had a great time.
What I was really surprised is the university has so many restaurants, shops, Conbinis( oh if you don't know this vocabulary, you should check previous "ARI? OR ALI?" on YouTube!) and even beauty salons! If I was a student, I would study really hard because they have fantastic equipments for studying.
So I was kind of jealous of them.
To be honest, when I was a university student, I didn't study hard. And I so regret that I didn't. But at least, it's a good thing that I realized it. I will never make a same mistake!
Anyways, Im thinking where I should go for the next HFB. Any suggestions? Oh.....I got some from my channel! I gotta pick out!! I'll see you guys next time, okay bye!

TOO MANY? OR NOT?

Hi fantastic people! It's time to watch "ARI? OR ALI?"!
Today's topic is "Too many things".
Here, in Tokyo, we have everything. Yeah, literally, EVERYTHING!
But I think we have too many things. Especially, CONVENI(if you haven't watched my new video, you'll never know what this means!)!
The reason why I decided to make this video was the other day, I was driving my car and saw a conveni. About 30 seconds later, I just saw another conveni. After I saw them, I saw ANOTHER conveni. Then 1 minute later.....I saw......yeah you know what I saw. Then I thought "How many convenies do we have in Tokyo?" "Is it possible to count them?". And I made this video.

As you can see, I couldn't count every convenis in Tokyo because we have oner 5000 convenies in Tokyo. That's insane, isn't it? 5000 convenies are in this such a small city! I think we should reduce them and build some parks like we used to have.
It's been really easy to live in Tokyo lately. If you want to grab some food at midnight, yes you can. If you want to drink some coffee at mid night, yes you can.
Even if you want to buy some electronic things at midnight, yes you can.
But I don't want people to forget our old days. We were not lazy, but now, we've been so lazy because we have everything. I will make this video as well. The title would be "WE LOVE 24 HOURS!".

Hello amazing people, I finally.....yeah literally FINALLY, I uploaded a new episode of HFB! It was about 2 weeks ago, I installed iMovie'11. After I did it, I uploaded an episode 10 of HFB (which was deleted asap). But somehow, it had some audio troubles. I was trying to figure it out by myself..........yeah, that's why I couldn't upload a new HFB. I finally decided to go to Apple store to get fixed my iMovie'11.
Guess what?
They fixed my iMovie'11!! Thanks, Thanks a lot, million, trillion, zillion!!

Trombone FAILED!

Hi everyone and I am sorry that I still haven't uploaded a new episode of HFB (episode 10). In 2 days, I will go to Asakusa and vlog again. Then I will upload it asap!
Oh, I uploaded a new video today! At least, that's a good thing, isn't it?

I coincidentally found this video last week. Then I watched it and I was laughing a lot.
Because I was SOOOOO nervous to play a trombone before people.
I still remember that day. Somehow, I chose "Micky Mouse March" and practiced it as much as I can. But When I stood before people......Yeah, I admit it, I totally failed!!!
Plus, I was tooooooo much SHY (As you can see)......

Now, I think I'm not shy anymore but I still get nervous when I stand before people.
But the weird thing is that when I stand before a lot of people at a huge place, I won't be nervous. When I stand before few people ata a small place, I will be really nervous......I don't know why......

Anyways, I'm going to be really extremely busy until the end of December. But I promise that I will upload videos as much as I can. Trust me, Japanese do NOT lie!

Hello wonderful people, how's going? Me?? Umm.....Let's see......I've been having a small trouble since yesterday.
The trouble is about YouTube, I mean HFB.
Yesterday, the new episode of HFB, episode 10 "HFB in Asakusa" was going to be uploaded. But I couldn't do it.
As you know that the episode 9 has an audio traboule. It starts from 3:07, my voice and motion do not much at all even though I didn't edit like that.
The reason why I couldn't upload the episode 10 was I had totally same audio problem. Honestly, it's actually much worth than the episode 9. My voice and motion don't much, for about 2 minutes, the entire sound was gone.....
I spent my time to figure it out why it happened and I now know what to do.
The best way to upload the episode 10 is go to Asakusa AGAIN, vlog exactly what I did AGAIN and edit it AGAIN! Again and again and again!
I suppose this is the best and fastest way to upload. I will go to Asakusa ASAP. Then I will vlog, edit and make you laugh!
Plus, I've been thinking of new "ARI? OR ALI?" on YouTube. I think it's going to be fun.

Hello everyone! How have you been? I am deeply and seriously sorry that I haven't, no I mean I COULDN'T have vlogged! As you guys might know that Tokyo had been really bad weather since last month. I guess that's because GLOBAL WARMING!!.....I hope it's not!!

Hi awesome people who are reading this blog! I always and really appreciate that you read "ARI? OR ALI?". It's night in Tokyo and getting colder. When I went out, I thought "Oh man, am I in Hokkaido (Where is North of Japan)?"

SUCK? OR NOT?

Hi everyone! It's been a long time to blog, I'm so sorry!
I have decided what kind of videos I am going to make recently.
First of all, "ARI? OR ALI?" is about Japanese things, related to Japanese culture, people etc. The reason why I made this title "ARI? OR ALI?" is that my last name.
My last name is actually ARI (this is between US!). But as long as I'm in Japan.
I am called "ALI". Are you confused? Well, don't be!!
The reason why I am called ALI is Japanese don't have "R" sounds. We ONLY have "L" sounds. You see now? Yeah, its's kind of funny and weird.
When I was in the USA, people call me ARI with a VERY collect pronunciation.
But Japanese call me ARI with a VERY wrong pronunciation even though I am Japanese, I mean WE are Japanese!
So this is the reason why I named my channel as "ARI? OR ALI?"

As I wrote down, I've decided what kind of videos I am going to make.
I now make 3 different kinds of show.
First show is "ARI? OR ALI?" and I talk about Japanese culture etc and make fun of Japanese culture, people, things.
Second show is "HFB (Hello From The Bicycle). I vlog with my cool bicycle.
Third show is "Behind HFB". This show is about how to customize bicycles by YOURSELF. To be honest, I've never customized bicycles in my life. So I am a totally beginner! I hope we can learn how to do it.

I now upload those shows, videos at only "ARI? OR ALI?". Sooner or later, I will separate them. I will make "ARI? OR ALI?" and "Hello From The Bicycle" (This might be included Behind HFB because it's very related to HFB.)
When I separate their shows, I will talk about it much deeper and funnier :P

Behind HFB -Mission 1- Get The New Bicycle!

Hello everyone! Guess what I just started?
Oh yeah, I just started a new series of HFB! It's "Behind HFB". (I first named "The behind scene of HFB. But I thought it's kind of long, so I named shorter. It was "The Behind of HFB". Then I thought "Okay, I can name shorter than "The Behind of HFB", How about "Behind HFB"? Oh yeah it's much shorter and easy to remember it! Therefore, I named "Behind HFB". I know it sounds incorrect. But it's easy to remember, isn't it?)
The reason why I decided to do this was I was going to get an USED bicycle. (on this vlog, I said "a NEW bicycle".....Please forgive me!) Then I though, "Oh, I would love t o fix and customize this awesome bicycle by MYSELF! Yeah, let's vlog what I am going to do!" That's why I started it.

Big City? or Countryside?

Hi, it's ARI? OR ALI? on YouTube! I went to my father's hometown which is a VERY countryside, it's called Kyoto. It was really great to be here even though I was staying there for a short time. I personally love countrysides. That's because I am from Tokyo, A big city. It's always crowded, busy, people are not kind.....

I know that I must love my hometown. But I simply I can't. Tokyo is just a big city. That's it. What else does it have? I have no idea.....

Hi, it's time to watch HFB! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!
As I said in this vlog, Tokyo has tons of vending machines. I'm sure that you can buy drinks ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE 24/7!
But this is my humble opinion....."Too many vending machines!"
I'm always confused by them, like "Oh.....what should I get? ummm coffee, soda, tea, water........okay, ummmmm what should I get then?"
Here, in Tokyo, we have everything, literally "EVERYTING" such as 24/7 convenience stores, restaurants, Karaoke, even clothes stores.
I sometimes imagine, "What if those things disappeared suddenly? Could we survive?"
I guess this is the civilized countries.......
